Does size really matter?

There are so many opinions flying around when it comes to the right penis size and shape. Few dudes actually ask a doctor. So, let’s lay some facts on the table to clear up the air:

  1. Guys actually underestimate their penis. The Kinsey institute conducted a study on penis size and found that most guys don’t whip out a ruler out and check the actual length of their penis, and so they just estimate, and are usually under.

  2. Additional research done by the Kinsey institution found that the average size of a penis is 5-6.5 inches. And, if you want to help by contributing a selfie to science, there is a penis size study at the University of Missouri!

  3. The average diameter of a penis is 1.5 inches.

  4. There is such thing as a micropenis, but it has to do with length not width and is caused by abnormal hormone levels, which can be detected during fetal development. An adult penis is considered a micropenis when it measured less than 3 inches when erect.

  5. The difference between an erect penis and a relaxed penis ranges from around 1-4 inches. However, studies show that smaller penises tend to grow more when erect, by percentage, than larger penises.

  6. If you are worried about the strength and durability of your erection, monitoring your cholesterol intake can help. Arteries that carry blood to the penis are very narrow and therefore can easily get clogged up. So, if erectile dysfunction scares you, it might prove useful to cut out any fatty foods from your diet.

  7. If you’ve acquired a bend in your penis, you may need to be treated. In general, penises shouldn’t bend. Some causes of a bent penis include: Peyronie’s disease (a development of scar tissue within the penis), injury to the penis, an autoimmune disorder (such as lupus, arthritis, celiac, etc), and an inherited fibrous tissue (collagen) abnormality.

  8. Over time, men do lose some penis length. This could be due to: age (due to the decline in testosterone levels and reduced sexual activity), Peyronie’s disease, weight gain, and medication. But don’t be scared as the change isn’t too drastic.

If you are scared about or happen to have erectile dysfunction, there is a solution. At Women’s Health Practice, we have a treatment option called the P-Shot. This shot will help with the firmness of your erection, sexual capabilities, stamina, sensation and pleasure, as well as enhance appearance and increase blood flow. The P-Shot additionally improves and/or resolves prostate discomfort and urinary incontinence. If you think the P-Shot is right for you, or have any questions, call and schedule an appointment at Women’s Health Practice or Hada Cosmetic Medicine to discuss your options. Even though length is out of your control, there are still ways to enhance pleasure for both you and your partner.
