Throwback Thursday: Do We need A Zika Eudiometer?

Napoleon was convinced, as were all learned men and women of those times, that malaria was caused by bad air. So convinced that mal'aria is the Italian for bad air. And like the current environmental trackers of the modern mosquito born disease, the trackers of this Napoleonic mosquito born (not yet recognized) disease created a map of where the likely "bad smells were to be" so they could track them. Napolean was so enamored with this concept he established a eudiometry company to create this map of Egypt. Napoleon's solution was to avoid, when possible, combat in the bad air zone, and our advice to pregnant moms: avoid travel in the zones of disease, and we have whole company of CDC trackers to tell us where those zone are. So maybe we have to thank Napoleon for another brilliant combat strategy!
