New Advice For Women Who Have Had Miscarriages

There is new advice for women who have had more than one miscarriage, check the lining of the uterus. The lining of the uterus is a complex place, and it is important to have the right hormonal effects so that the lining of that baby bed is ready. However, post miscarriage, it's more common than we think to have had a low grade infection. So the new advice is to receive evaluation and treatment of infection of the uterus. The results of a recent study in February 2014 Fertility and Sterility have pointed to successful follow up pregnancies in women treated for infection of the lining of the uterus. This condition is called endometritis (medical term for infection in the uterus) and is almost 100% curable through antibiotic use. The diagnosis cannot be made on exam or ultrasound, it is a diagnosis made by exam or culture of the lining tissue of the uterus. The tissue is obtained through a special biopsy procedure called an endometrial biopsy. After the treatment, in the research study, women were given repeat biopsies to make sure they were cured. It would be up to your personal gyno to decide if this type of biopsy can help your case. And if infection or uterine lining problems was not the cause of the miscarriage, look to medication use, lack of vitamins or other nutritional deficiencies, chromosomal problems, or perhaps problems with the male sperm count.
