My Pinard a Lost Art and a Lost Term

Adolphe Pinard was a French physcian from a humble family and he began his medical studies while serving in teh Franco Prussian War. In the late 19th century he became the Chairman of the Maternity Hospital in Paris, he developed a incredibly insightful term for prenatal care: "intrauterine pediatric care" but may best be remembered for the Pinard fetal stethoscope which was still in wide use until just a few years ago. Here are the pictures of mine, used first by one of my older associates.
