No Going back?

WHI's newest bombshell was just fired at the bold and the beautiful; about 1/4 of all women who get on hormones, can't really go off without being miserable. So it might be a no going back proposition for some women. Menopausal HF will go away, well, eventually. No predicting exactly, but "a few years" in duration seems to be a reasonable time period for most patients to expect. Moderate to severe symptoms may have to be treated, but the longer term management has been less of a focus of the research and development programs. So tread carefully into those treatments, and ask when you stop as when to begin.
