Organ Function not Blood Levels Control Hormone Action

Everyone knows about our endocrine system. But who really knows what's going on in the body, it's not necessarily our endocrinology. Intracrinology is a "newish" subject talked about in an 1998 article from Toyoake and Sendai Japan where they point out that the actual action of hormones at the organ and cellular level is what is most critical. When you get an explanation of why our levels of male hormones cause acne, you're getting an explanation of some intracrinology.
